Why Eternal Hellfire? (3)
Question:
Thanks a lot, Sir. Now, I can see what you really meant by the metaphorical verses.
Our eternal punishment discussion was just about to reach a positive conclusion before I realized that the ones who do not follow the law of inheritance will also be eternally punished. May you please put a little light on the reason? I’ll be extremely grateful.
Response:
My answer to the question of violation of the law of inheritance is that a person who violates the advice of the Almighty in the distribution of wealth and ignores the rights of others is somebody who has no concern for the needs and plight of others. He is the one who neither has concern for God nor for fellow humans. Not only that, if he continues his life without any remorse for what he had done and continues to flout the Almighty’s injunctions on the subject, he doesn’t truly believe in God nor in the hereafter. The only concern he has is for his own greed. Of course, such a person should not deserve any sympathy for the Almighty.
On the other hand, if there was a person who violated the law of inheritance for some reason that could be an acceptable excuse in the eyes of God, most certainly such a person would not qualify to be subjected to the same degree of punishment. In other words, the punishments mentioned in Qur’an on crimes people commit are mentioned about the crimes they commit in the most blatant manner.
Of course, a person who has no concern for God and the fellow humans, and his crimes cannot find any justifiable excuses; he too should be punished by the Almighty in accordance with his supreme knowledge and sense of justice of which we have very little understanding.
