Questions of an Ahmadi (1)

Question:
Muslim scholars have been talking about the coming of Imam Mehdi and some of them have stated that he could be a prophet. I also watched a program in which Ghamdi Sahib mentioned it. My question is that why those pious noble people were waiting for someone who was not mentioned in Quran in a clear way? Secondly we don't consider any other muslim to be a non muslim. Whoever says kalima is a muslim according to the Holy Prophet SAW.

Response:
I think you are mistaken: Ghamidi Sb must have said that many Muslims are waiting for Imam Mehdi. He himself believes that Muslims are supposed to have no beliefs other than the ones which are mentioned in the Qur'an. Since there is not the slightest of hints of anyone coming after prophet Muhammad, alaihissalaam, there can be no belief (aqidah) that requires belief in someone who has to come after prophet Muhammad, alaihissalaam.

Permit me to say that your understanding is self-contradictory: You believe that Mirza Sahib was a prophet (Nabi) and also say that those who deny his prophet-hood (Nubuwwat) can still be Muslims. Can someone be a Muslim despite denying a genuine Nabi? I think Mirza Nasir Ahmad Sahib's (the Ahmadi Khalifa during the seventies) stance was more logical. When he was testifying before the National Assembly Committee in 1973, he mentioned that the one who didn't believe Mirza Sb as a prophet was not a Muslim
