Re: Freedom of choice or death penalty for disbelief?
Question:
Well, the punishment that you have mentioned are "natural punishment by God", NOT by human! I am not talking about "natural punishment", nor am I talking about punishment in the hereafter. I am talking about "temporal punishment by human". Is there any "temporal punishment by human" in the Quran for not believing its message? I guess, NO!
It is better to clarify this issue in your next part debate with Ali Sina. I think many people have been confused with your word:
"The possibility of killings mentioned in the Qur’an are .... those who were declared unworthy of living in this world anymore after they had denied the clearly communicated and understood message from God."
By your above statement do you mean "natural punishment by God" or "temporal punishment by human"?
Response:
Our task is to clarify the message of God the way it is. Natural clamities and swords of men are both used by God to inflict His punishment on His enemies. The important thing is that in case men's swords are used for the purpose it is only God's direct message through His messengers that can cause it to happen. That is exactly what happened during the time of the prophet, alaihissalaam, when the Qur'an said:" Fight them; Allah will will punish them through your hands." (9:14) It is the same punishment that was inflicted by some people on others during the time of Musa, alaihissalaam. The Qur'an says: "And remember the time when Musa said to his people 'You have indeed harmed your souls by worshipping the calf, so repent before your Creator and kill your own people.'" (2:54)
Let's try to understand the Qur'an the way it is. Ali Sina is not prepared to accept the punishment of God inflicted on men through men. My task is only to clarify that that's how the law is. Osama bin Laden and his comrades are mistaken in that they have applied the verses that were meant for the times of the prophet alone to all other times. Allah knows the best.
