Offering Zuhur prayers after Asar prayers
Question:
If we miss our zuhur prayers, can we offer their qazaa after offering our asar prayers? What can we derive from the Qur'an and hadith, on the issue?
Response:
Can Zuhur be offered after Asar? My answer is no. The reason is that the sequence of prayers is going to be disturbed in that case. My question is, why would you need to say your zuhur after Asar? Is it because you couldn't say Zuhur on time? If that is the case, then the important thing to realize is that not offering a prayer at its right time is a big sin. One should always avoid it.
You might respond by saying this: Okay, I realize that it is a big sin, but if I have missed for some reason, can't I say it after Asar. My answer to it is that, apart from the fact that such a practice shouldn't become your habit, if you are repenting on not saying your Zuhur on time, and as a part of your repentance, you are also saying the missed prayer, I would say you can pray it in both ways, before Asar or afterwards. However, if the problem is that you want to join the Asar Jama'at, which is ready, then you will say your Zuhur later.
If you are on a journey, and you therefore have the facility to join Zuhur and Asar, then Zuhur must be said before Asar, in their right sequence.
