“I am convinced about the veracity of my opinions, but I do consider it likely that they may turn out to be incorrect. Likewise, I am convinced about the incorrectness of the views different from mine, but I do concede the possibility that they may turn out to be correct.” — Imam Shafa’i

Mutah

Question:
Why was mutah allowed to earlier Muslims?

Response:
Mutah was never allowed in Islam. The Qur'an is clear that the only physical relationship that was allowed was with wives and slavegirls. Mutah seems to have been a practice during the ealier days of Islam, which people gave up when they learnt about its unacceptability.
