God's scheme on earth, incomprehensible

Question:
Human beings have got so much far ahead than previous times in every field of life such as science and technology, and they must not have made these things if God didn't give them the capacity to advance. Similarly, He must also have given us the capacity to resort to evil, succumbing to his God-given desires.

If it does not matter to God that either all the humans should go to heaven or hell, because God doesn't need anyone, then what is the purpose of creating us humans and putting us on earth?

Response:
When we try to solve the riddle of this life, we have to look at it from our own point of view. We can't look at our life and the existence around us from the point of view of God Almighty. We don't know Him fully, so how can we comment about how He should or should not operate? Whether He was bored or He had some higher purpose in mind that prompted Him to create this life, is none of our concern. In case we are comparing the understanding of life given to us by the Qur'an with some other understanding, let us see what that other understanding is? To my knowledge, there is no other point of view worth its name that can be presented save the one that has been presented by the Qur'an.
