Inheritance for an illegitimate child

Question:
How is an illegitimate child going to be treated for the purpose of law of inheritance?

Response:
In my humble opinion, the illegitimate child would get a share from the mother’s wealth because she is known. However, since the father is not known, there is no question for the child to get share from his wealth. It is difficult to imagine a case wherein a child is illegitimate and yet the father is known. It can only happen in a very corrupt society. My understanding is that since the relationship of the parents was illegitimate, the child cannot have any legal relations with his biological father. And Allah knows the best.
