'Faal'

Question:
Is taking 'faal' from the Quran right?

Response:
There is no trace in the practice of the prophet, alaihissalaam, that suggests that he did anything like that or asked anyone else to do so. Since involving the Qur'an in an act makes the act religious in nature and since the practice of getting 'faal' from the Qur'an cannot be proved from the prophet's practice, it is a bid'ah - which is strongly condemned in Islam.
